BABY GROUP

 

We would love to meet you and your bump/baby. We have now combined this group with our toddler group, Little Stars, but don't worry - our youngest guests have their own dedicated safe space to play in  

 

Wednesdays in term time - 9:00am - 11:00am

 

We have a self-weigh station available for anyone who would like to weigh their babies during the session. We also have regular visits from Charlotte who is an  NCT Breast-feeding Counsellor who can offer support with any infant feeding related issues 

 

SOUTHWELL BAPTIST CHURCH

Are you looking for somewhere to meet up with friends on a Friday? Try the Dwelling place for home baked food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. If you find yourself on your own, pop in for a chat - you will find someone to talk to and share a coffee with.

Renew is a safe, open and welcoming space to come into. Whether you’re OK or not OK.

We’re here every Monday afternoon (except Bank Holidays) from 1-3pm.

Some call it ‘Jigsaws and Jenga’.

You can bring a hobby or activity to share if you wish to.

Or just drop in for a chat.

Come for a listening ear, or just for some time-out among others.

All welcome. Tea, coffee and biscuits available (no charge).

Free carparking. Level access and accessible toilets.

There’s an optional prayer time at 2pm for any who wish to attend.

And there’s always someone available for individual prayer.

The Craft and Chatter group meets every first and third Friday mornings at The Dwelling Place from 10am – 12 noon. Anyone is welcome to come and enjoy good company, chat and refreshments while crafting and exchanging ideas. Activities currently on offer are knitting, crocheting, embroidery, tapestry and colouring or bring your own project.
Members have made Fiddle Muffs which have been given to homes catering for people suffering with dementia. They have also made fabric bags, fabric activity kits, puppets, scarves, hats, hair bands, mittens, hats, bangle bags, pencil cases, purses and knitted bags for the Christmas shoebox appeal.

SOUTHWELL COURT CARE HOME SERVICE

 

A short service for Southwell Court Care Home residents

Southwell Minster's popular lunchtime concerts take place at 1.30pm on many Fridays, with performers coming from around the country to perform a wide variety of instrumental and vocal music in the spectacular setting of the Cathedral.  The concerts last approximately 45 minutes. Admission is free, with a retiring collection which helps to fund the Cathedral Organ Scholar. Pick up a free programme upon your arrival.  (We regret that the lunches that used to be part of these lunchtime concerts are not currently being offered.) There is a regular email distribution - if you would like to be kept up-to-date on future concerts, please sign up using the form at the bottom right hand side of the home page of the Minster website www.southwellminster.org.

 

Music in the State Chamber – a series of monthly chamber concerts held in the historic State Chamber of the Archbishop's Palace, Southwell Minster on Sunday evening at 7.30pm, with refreshments served from 7.00pm. Admission is free (no reservations) with a retiring collection to support the work of Southwell Minster Choir Association. Further information can be found at www.southwellminster.org/whats-on

COFFEE FOR CAFOD

 

All welcome for coffee & cake at Our Lady of Victories Parish Centre, Southwell NG25 0AD on the third Thursday of each  month after 9.30 am Mass (except August and December). Please join us for a chat, meet friends, keep up to date with CAFOD's national campaigns, sign petitions, send a letter or email to our MP and much more....

 

 

Is on the 1st Saturday of Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept and Nov

 

Men's Breakfast is a chance for men to meet together, over a good cooked breakfast. There is a speaker who will talk on a subject of interest and relevance, featuring how faith has helped in the speaker’s life

We start at 8:00AM with informal coffee and a chat

 

We enjoy a cooked breakfast from 8:30 - 9:00AM and then a person speaks about their life experiences, which includes their faith journey, for about 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes of questions

 

The morning ends at 9:30AM although you are welcome to stay on, for an informal chat.

 

There is no cost, although we do put out a bowl for a small donation

 

All are welcome for all or part of the morning

Ladies group meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 2:00PM in church

At our meetings we hear talks from members of our church, and from people with local and community interests

 

Several of our members also take leading parts in some of the meetings We enjoy developing fellowships between the ladies in our group, and warmly welcome new members

Come and join us between 10:00AM - 2:00PM on Wednesdays at Holy Trinity Church, for a cuppa & cake, activities, games, occasional films and craft etc

 

Always followed by a light lunch (optional) between

12:00PM - 1:00PM

 

Everyone, of any age, is very welcome, so please do come along, and connect with new and old friends.

There is no charge, but we do appreciate donations, that help to fund Toddlers
At the end of the session the leaders pray together to give thanks, and to bring any needs, or concerns to the Lord.

YOUTH Café

 

Meets in Church, on Tuesdays during term time, between 6pm - 7pm

 

 

Our hope is that this will be a safe and welcoming place for the children and young people in Southwell, a place where they can be with their friends and enjoy a relaxed environment, as well as free hot drinks, cakes and smoothies, whilst using our games console, table tennis or table football and other equipment.

MOMENTS

 

A welcoming group for those who would like companionship, or who have issues with their memory

Moments is our 'memory cafe', and takes place on the last Wednesday of every month, between 10:00AM - 14:00PM
With various activities followed by an optional light lunch

Do you love worship music? Do you enjoy exercise classes?

 

This is a class to get you fitter for God in mind, body and spirit. it caters to all fitness levels and runs on a fortnightly basis at the Riverside Centre in Southwell at 08:00 - 08:45am

 

It is an exercise class for every ability and for someone wherever they are in their faith journey, where movement is used to honour and explore God. The class starts with prayer, there is a warm up, a cardio session, a strength component followed by a cool down and then a period of reflection and prayer.

 

It is the perfect start to a Sunday morning. You can book onto the class at www.bookwhen.com/jobyjo . The class costs £5 per household and this fee goes directly to charity with all proceeds going to the Kapporet Trust who support an orphanage in India. YOUTH CAFE

 

We meet at the Riverside Centre on Friday nights to play games, undertake challenges and build relationships through having fun. We welcome any faith level or none!

Little Fishes is a stimulating and safe place for little ones to play and for parents and carers to meet with others and learn more about God's love for us all.

 

Run by volunteers from Riverside, Little Fishes meets every Friday morning at the Riverside Centre.

Is for children aged 0-11 years old. It stands for Growing Lives On the Word.

 

Sunday morning sessions provide a fun and active place where children can learn about God and grow in their faith. GLOW is run by a team of adults from Riverside who are passionate about teaching and sharing the good new of Jesus with our children in interactive, engaging, and action-packed ways!

Our Sensory Space runs during the 11am service on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.

 

Sensory space is a calm and quiet environment for all ages who need a sensory break.

We provide calming lighting and music, weighted blanket, regulating toys and a range of activities to help support needs. We’re also available to discuss specific needs or to just have a chat.
